Intensive Courses With Autobahn School of Motoring

Why Choose An Intensive Course?

Often, pupils need to pass very quickly for employment or other reasons. Pupils having just a one hour lesson per week usually take many months to learn to drive. While this approach helps to spread out the cost you do end up paying more in the long run. This is because you often forget what you have learnt from one week to the next . You end up taking two steps forward and one step back. Consequently you will need a greater number of lessons to reach test standard. If you are taking just one-lesson-a-week you would need to increase the hours you need to learn to drive by at least 50%. For example, if, on a semi-intensive basis you need 30 hours to learn to drive, it is likely that you would need 45 hours on a one lesson per week basis. It is therefore false economy to try and save money by just having an hour a week as it will actually cost you more in the long run.

Autobahn School of Motoring specialises in training pupils to test standard quickly. In some cases it can be possible to train a pupil from scratch up to test standard in just 1 week!

Fully Intensive Courses: Pass in As Little As One Week!

If you need to pass your driving test quickly and you have sufficient spare time then an intensive course can be the best option. A common question is: How many hours per week is an intensive course? Well, it depends in how intensive you want to make it. Autobahn School of Motoring defines an intensive driving course as one where the pupil is having 10 or more hours of tuition per week. The most intentive course we do is a one week 40 hour course. The 40 Hour One Week Course would typically involve 7 and a half hours of lessons per day on days 1 to 5 of the course and then 2 and a half hours on day 6. The Driving test would take place in the last hour of Day 6 on the course.

Semi-Intensive Courses: Pace Yourself & Pass Quickly!

Having 7+ hours of driving lessons per day for a week can be too tiring for many people. Concentrating for periods longer than two hours at a time can very hard for most people as after about two or three hours the human brain will enter "overload". You will feel mentally exhausted and you will start to switch off at which time your rate of learning will tail off. For this reason, a moderately intensive, or semi-intensive course of 2 hours per day, every day for as long as you need is more often than not the best route for those wanting to pass the driving test quickly.

How Do I Know Which Course is Right For Me?

It can be very difficult to know which course of driving lessons is best suited to you without talking to a driver training professional. The best thing to do is therefore to call us to arrange an assessment lesson. During your assessment lesson, your instructor will establish what skills and knowledge you have already (if any), and then recommend to you the most suitable course based on your needs, aspirations and available free time.

The Theory Test & Intensive Courses

You must pass the DSA Theory Test before an intensive course can be taken. However, we can book a theory test for you and provide a normal course of lessons until the Theory Test has been passed.

If you have not at present passed the theory test you will find the relevant information on this site, including a link to the DSA theory booking centre (click on the "Links button" at the top of this page). Your Driving Instructor will be only too pleased to offer further assistance.
